CHRISTMAS MARKETS 2016

WOW!

It's that time of year already huh?

As winter draws its cold arms around us and we dig out the woolly scarves and long coats, it's time to start thinking about (gulp) Christmas. Yep, I said it. The C word...

June Recap: aka things we did

Hello beauties!

I thought I’d take the chance to give you a little overview of everything we got up to in June here at the Lucky Cloud Skincare HQ!

It was a busy month with new stockists, markets, lovely reviews, sunshine (!) in Edinburgh and even the chance to get out of the city for a wee break at Loch Lomond...

Spotlight: Century General Store(s)

I thought I’d take the opportunity this week to show you around one of my lovely stockists here in Edinburgh. Century General Store has two locations; the original flagship store at 100 Marchmont Crescent, opened in 2014 by Stephen Kirkwood and the second store, which launched in January 2016 at Montrose House, Abbeyhill run by Niall.

Ingredient Highlight - Calendula Officinalis [Marigold]

MARIGOLD - CALENDULA OFFICINALIS
Calendula, also known as marigold has been used medicinally for centuries.

Calendula flowers and petals are used for healing and tissue regeneration, for cuts, scrapes, wounds, red & inflamed skin, minor burns and sunburn, acne, rashes and eczema prone skin.

DesignMarket 2016

Every year the beautiful Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh opens its doors to hold a weekend retail design fair called DesignMarket. In cahoots with Creative Edinburgh and Process Studios, both floors are filled with all kinds of printmaking, jewellery, fashion, homeware and ceramics.

Ingredient Highlight - Avena Sativa [oats]

OATS – AVENA SATIVA
The humble oat has been used for hundreds of years to help dry, itchy and inflamed skin.

Providing excellent softening, soothing and hydrating properties....

Stu Stu Studio...

After nearly a year of hunting and searching for a studio / workshop to call my own,  one finally dropped in my lap! I now call Edinburgh Palette at St Margaret's House my home (well, office I guess even though sometimes I might like to spend the night...) Oh, and it has a sink with hot and cold running water. A sink!

Retail Stockists!

So I left off my last blog post with a bit of teaser about my first retail stockist. Well, it's been a busy few weeks and I have lots of new gossip to fill you in on!

Monday 1 June, the first working day after the DesignMarket I received an email from The Makers Gallery up in Alloa inquiring about my products as they'd seen photographs of the event on Facebook. To say I was excited would have been an understatement!

Lucky Cloud Skincare Soft Launch

Easter weekend, 2015.
Hill Street Design House, Edinburgh

After months (years!) of planning, experimenting, road-testing, tweaking, paper-working, safety testing etc - I was ready to finally launch "Lucky Cloud Skincare". However, the whole idea of people actually using my products, holding them in their hands, judging (?!) them, well it seemed a wee bit daunting... so I decided to take a baby step into the world and hold a "soft-launch" for friends, family and friends of friends.
