Spotlight: Century General Store(s)

I thought I’d take the opportunity this week to show you around one of my lovely stockists here in Edinburgh. Century General Store has two locations; the original flagship store at 100 Marchmont Crescent, opened in 2014 by Stephen Kirkwood and the second store, which launched in January 2016 at Montrose House, Abbeyhill run by Niall.

It was nearly a year ago that I met with the lovely Stevie to discuss the opportunity of stocking with him  (see my silly smiling face in the shop below). By mid-August 2015 I was there doing a sweet little pop-up shop and dropping off a box of stock!

In the lead up to the pop up, I did a “meet the maker” blog post for him – you can read it here   - with, I gotta say, one of the nicest  introductions I’ve ever had:

Lucky Cloud Skincare has something of a cult following. With natural products that look good enough to eat and branding that packs a punch, Lucky Cloud has received rave reviews from Scotland On Sunday and a legion of happy customers..”

At their Marchmont store, you’ll find the shop filled with carefully selected homewares, along with a coffee nook and a few treats. While the Abbeyhill store has a bigger café, selling amazing coffee, cakes, pastries and of course, the same tastefully selected homewares. Everything they stock is designed with tenement life in mind, perfect for the Edinburgh flat dweller, with the aim to sell timeless, functional products that don’t cost the earth.

I also did a two day Valentines pop-up in February 2016 at the Abbeyhill store – despite the pouring rain and snow the café was warm and welcoming with coffee flowing.

I highly recommend popping in to either store if you’re in the neighbourhood. They both offer a relaxed environment, super friendly smiles and awesome coffee and cakes.

You can find the full range of Lucky Cloud Skincare products at both stores (in fact, I have a big box of Lip Butters still to send them...)

Also, check out their Instagram page for behind the scenes snaps of everything they get up to.

Oh and they're always doing workshops, pop-up shops, pop-up kitchens and all sorts, so check out their "what's on" page  to keep up to date.

Have you been? Are you a regular customer? Let me know in the comments section.

Peace and Love
