Behind the Scenes
HOW WE MAKE OUR LIP BUTTERS
Today we’re going to take you on a journey behind the scenes to show you how we make our Lip Butters; what ingredients we use, how it’s done and that when we say our products are handmade, we really mean it…!
For this post we’re looking at the Vanilla Lip Butter
The Melting Pot
The first step is to measure out and melt together all the ingredients. These include:
Soya Wax
Sweet Almond Oil
Thistle Oil
Cocoa Butter
Coconut Butter
All ingredients are plant based, meaning everything is vegan friendly.
Once everything is melted and liquidy (high techy term) we add the more sensitive ingredients at a lower temperature; including the Vitamin E oil and the Vanilla Oil.

The Containers
Our lip butters are packaged in super cute retro slide tins –see them here all laid out waiting to be filled.
The tins are a handy 10ml size, which fit snuggly in your pocket, handbag or basically anywhere.
They can also be re-used when empty - no plastic here!
Fill ‘er up
We hand fill the lip mixture using this nifty device.
It speeds things up a wee bit (alas, not nearly as quick as this video tho..) and creates less spillage than using a jug.
Yay!

Chill Out
Once all the tins are filled, they‘re left to sit and chill out for a bit. Their lids can’t go on until the mixture is set.
Think it’s time for a cup of tea...
Handmade
When we say our products are handmade, we mean it… not only are the products made and filled by hand, but so are the labels…
Check out the process here… don’t worry, we’ve sped it up for ya. Watching it in real time would seriously be like watching paint dry, right?

Final Stage
The final and finishing touch is a batch number & best before date.
And we’re done. They’re now ready to be stored; waiting to be purchased and slathered on your lips
Soft & creamy these balms will protect, nourish and soothe your smackers – ready for kissin’ and smiling
